You’ve got your display ready, you know what your goals and focuses are and you’ve got the right members of the team for the job, but have you forgotten something? In preparation for your trade show experience there are many things to consider, and to get done before you take off. We have been looking at the 5 top tasks to do before a trade show!

SCHEDULE SOCIAL POSTS & FIND THE TRADE SHOW HASHTAG

In this highly digital age, you would be a fool not to take advantage of the free advertising and promotion that social media provides. Prior to your trade show, make sure you let people know that you will be there, follow the dedicated social handles for the trade show and get involved in any hashtags that are floating about for the event. You can also put posts out letting people know what your stand number is and give them details on exclusive offers or give them a code to quote when they come to your stand from social media.

GIVEAWAY & COMPETITION SUPPLIES

If you are looking to give back something to your prospects, make sure you have a good supply of competition & giveaway paraphernalia. Many businesses go for branded things like pens, notepads and one of the most appealing branded giveaway we are seeing at trade shows, are wireless chargers. Wireless chargers are usually round discs that your prospect can lie their phone on top of to charge their phones. Because of the circle face on it you can make these branded and they are becoming a desired giveaway gift for businesses.

EMAIL MARKETING

Emailing you contact list and website subscribers letting them know where you will be on trade show day is another way to promote and gain a bigger audience. Just like social media there are so many ways to promote your presence through email marketing and a great way to get straight to your target market.

CHECK YOUR INSURANCE

It is important to make sure that you, your staff and your equipment is covered in your insurance before you go. If not you will need to get some pretty sharp. You need to be covered for accidents, loss or damage of equipment and other health & safety precautions. Make sure you check your current provider for your business, for peace of mind.

LEAD CAPTURE

One of the most important things you will collect from your trade show experience, and making sure you’re well prepared is essential for how well you do. Make sure iPads are charged, make sure that you have a healthy supply of business cards and data capture forms, and although you may not think it’s a big deal, LOTS of pencils.
